I am currently querying the book club fiction, BABY NEEDLES, complete at 86,000 words, about a restless English teacher jealous of her newly pregnant wife, who begins body optimization injections, but when she believes she's finally ready for the baby, she wakes up unable to feel love.It's a psychological suspense told by an obsessive, beachy, intermittently plus-size New Jersey lesbian. It combines the feminist satire of The Substance with the comedic, hallucinatory logic of Sky Daddy by Kate Folk, perfect for readers who enjoyed Clever Little Thing by Helena Echlin.Its unhinged narrator grapples with hunger and biological inheritance, self-destruction disguised as self-improvement, and how unabashedly complicated it is to live inside a body.I studied in the MFA program at the New School, majored in Creative Writing at Bard College, and my work has appeared in the Gettysburg Review.EMAIL ME: [email protected]
